London Screenplay Contest

The London Screenplay Contest screenplay competition was formed to discover and promote top writing talent from around the world. Our mission is to make the film and entertainment industry accessible to talented new voices in screenwriting by honoring standout work and providing a platform from which writers can attract the attention of producers, literary managers and agents.

The Call for Entries for the London Screenplay Contest is now open.

Early Deadline £15 or $30 USD
Regular Deadline £20 or $35 USD
Late Deadline £25 or $40 USD

Announcement Date

Winners of the 2017 London Film Awards will be announced December 15, 2017.

Screenplay Competition Categories and Definitions

Feature Screenplays
Feature screenplays are 75 pages and over.

Short Screenplays
Short screenplays are under 75 pages.

Television Pilots and Spec Scripts
Scripts written for television of any length.

Stage Plays
Stage plays of any length.

First-Time Screenwriter
A project of any category or genre submitted by a first-time screenwriter.

Screenplay Competition Rules & Regulations

General Rules:
- Screenplays/Teleplays must be the original work of the applicants.
- If a submission involves two or more writers as applicants, the award will be divided equally among them.
- Applicants may submit more than one screenplay/teleplay in any chosen category. Each entry requires an application, payment and script.
- Once an entry payment has been processed we cannot provide a refund.
- Awards are based on overall merit of the entries. Judges reserve the right not to grant an award.
- We strongly suggest that applicants register or copyright their screenplays/teleplays with the Writers Guild of America.
- Applicants retain all rights to their entries.
- No revisions or missing pages will be accepted once an entry has been received.

Format Rules:
- Screenplays/Teleplays should be formatted according to current industry standards.
- To follow standard guidelines for format, consult any popular screenwriting or teleplay writing text for assistance.
- Font size should be 12 point and in Courier type.
- Scripts should be in PDF format under 10MB.
